Writing Is My Passion

Writing is my life's work and passion. I enjoy writing about things that are dear and important to me, such as herbalism, organic green living, kindness and compassion to animals and enjoying life's joys, especially laughter.  One thing you'll see in common with all my blogposts and articles is an emphasis on peace and love and contributing to the solution.  The reason for this is beloved activists such as Mother Teresa believed in focusing on the good and what can and does work, rather than what doesn't work, and sharing beauty and love and joy in order to demonstrate the wonderful possibility of things.  Something wonderful and magical happens when I write.  Whether my thoughts be personal or there to help humanity, I always feel good and at peace when I write.  It's important to me that my ideas and thoughts I write help people and inspire people to make positive changes in their life and when I hear and see the positive results of my shared thoughts, I feel good and thankful that the words I wrote contributed to something very positive.   I appreciate all my readers and I appreciate your listening and your genuine interest in my voice.  I appreciate and welcome all comments.  Thank you. Peace and Love

Earth Friendly Gift Giving

This Christmas Holiday Season, give with the thought of helping your friend and loved one feel well, healthy, happy, and comforted.  Gift giving is best when focused on health, wellness, and kindness and respect toward Mother Earth.  One of the best most thoughtful gifts you can give someone this Holiday is one that is nontoxic, healthy, and earth friendly.  There are many types of gifts that fall into this category and my two favorites are paperless e-books and organic natural essential oils.  E-books are wonderful because all you need to do is download them onto your computer and read them on your computer or you can read them on your Amazon Kindle.  Organic natural essential oils are wonderful and healing and make very healing aromatherapy.  Organic essential oils are very special gifts for the loved ones in your life who are chemically sensitive and need something healing and soothing that is safe and healthy.    Essential oils like sandalwood, orange, patchouli, and peppermint are wonderful and have many healing uses in aromatherapy.

One of the chapters in my book, "Keep Your Vanity Without Losing Your Sanity," has wonderful suggestions for earth friendly nontoxic gifts and provides a helpful guide of companies that make wonderful safe earth friendly products.  Please visit my website: http://www.notperfume.com/book.html for more information.  You can also feel free to subscribe to my Green Living Newsletter for free and receive wonderful tips to enjoy frugal healthy green living and enjoy a warm safe nontoxic Holiday.  I will be publishing a special issue before Christmas with delicious healing recipes and tips for healthy green frugal living.  Please see information about subscribing on the right hand side bar of my blog.  Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and enjoy a safe, peaceful, healthy New Year and Merry Yule.

Helpful Tips For Being A Loving Earth Steward

There are many ways to be a compassionate responsible earth steward and make a positive contribution to the world.  An earth steward is a person who makes the conscious decision to make wise choices and decisions that affect his or her local world and is careful that these choices and decisions help the planet.

1.  Go vegan.  "Did you know that the amount of water required to produce 1 burger could float a battleship?" #quote Howard Lyman ex-4th generation cattle rancher turned vegan

2.  Become a holistic herbalist and eschew #bigpharma.  Did you know that more than 50% of the ingredients in over the counter and prescription medications contain toxic petrochemicals which are derived from crude oil, i.e., the gas in your tank?  Natural plant herbs, such as chamomile, lavender, lemongrass, peppermint, garlic, and ginger are much safer and healthier and don't require any factory processing.  You simply pull them wild from the ground, and chop them and brew an herbal tea or press them to make a nice lovely herbal mixture.

3.  Buy #organic as often as possible.  When you buy #organic, you're not just voting with your wallet, contributing to a  more socially conscious economy, you're also protecting your family's health, and you're saying NO to crude oil, which is what pesticides contain.

4.  Think globally, act locally.  There is much to be said about supporting local businesses and contributing to a much smaller carbon footprint.  Every time you purchase a product that needs to be shipped and delivered, you are contributing to more consumption of crude oil being used as fuel.  Buying locally is much better because your dollars are only going toward purchasing a product; they're not going toward paying for the delivery fuel.

5.  Wear #organic or wear nothing.  Did you know that the ingredient "fragrance" that's in cosmetics and personal care products contain at least 5,000 petrochemicals, none of which have been tested or scrutinized by the U.S. FDA?  Protect your family's health and become an avid label reader.  If you cannot pronounce an ingredient, pass it by!  Propylene glycol is a petrochemical that contains anti-freeze, the toxic stuff that is used to protect your car from extreme freezing temperatures and that is commonly found in cosmetics.  Read the label and look for ingredients like peppermint, chamomile, sandalwood, patchouli, ylang ylang, aloe vera, and olive oil.  You know these are herbs that grow wild in the ground throughout the world and it's much safer for you to use them than the toxic stuff!  For more information, please visit my website: www.notperfume.com.

6.  As the kosher law states, "if in doubt, do without," so is the same principle for making purchases of food and cosmetics for your health and wellbeing.  If you cannot pronounce an ingredient and you need to go to the trouble to understand what it means, then it is very likely, this ingredient will harm you and your family and you're better off without it!

7.  Enjoy the beautiful great outdoors and fresh air and go out and play!  This 1 is pretty self-explanatory, but it is exactly as it sounds.  The best way to honor, respect, and celebrate Mother Earth and all her beautiful wonder is to play in her grass, her trees, playfully interact with her sweet little Elemental beings, the butterflies, dragonflies, frogs, crickets, and turtles, and ducks, and have fun and breathe the fresh clean air!

It is much easier than you might think to be a happy, healthy, smart Earth Steward and it is never too late to start and enjoy it!

My Gratitude For Being A Compassionate Earth Steward

My dear husband, our sweet wonderful baby son, and I celebrate Thanksgiving, but in an alternative non-traditional manner.  We enjoy a wonderful, delicious, organic, vegan Tofurky Feast.  We are very thankful for all the wonderful Blessings of Love and Peace in our life.  We are also very thankful that our meal is humane and compassionate to Mother Earth and all her beautiful precious beings - animal and plant.  There is a lot to be said about maintaining a small carbon footprint that includes all walks of life in the animal kingdom and plant kingdom.  Every choice we make creates a ripple effect and has a positive impact on the planet locally and globally.  When we vote with our wallets and make conscious aware eating choices, the effects can be felt across the globe.

That being said, having an awareness of every facet of our personal life in the purchases we make, the foods we eat, and the actions we take, are all crucial and integral on a personal local level and on a global planetary level.  It brings much humble joy and peace to our hearts  knowing that each choice we make is gentle and compassionate and we are teaching our beautiful child to respect and care about the world in which he lives.  We are raising a beautiful Indigo child who cares about and respects the world around him and will be a shining example to follow for future generations.  I am very thankful to be a wise, healthy, aware Mama, and have a wise, healthy, aware dear husband who shares my care, passion, and respect for Mother Earth and her beautiful beings.

Peaceful Activism

It seems to me that people have lost sight of what activism is all about, whether it be about environmental, animal rescue and advocacy, or social issues.  When I see posts on Facebook and Twitter that clearly show people fighting with each other and bullying and badgering each other because one activist said something that the other activist deems "glaringly wrong or incorrect", it is very evident that in-fighting is on the rise and is out of control.  The one element that is easily overlooked and forgotten is that we are all human with feelings and it is very inappropriate and cruel to treat each other as if our feelings don't matter and more than that, if we continue to behave this way, we forget the most important fundamental issue: the issues and innocent beings that are suffering and need our help and have no voice to care for and protect their needs.

How can we honestly think we can take care of what needs to be done and help make a positive difference if all we do is attack each other about issues that are minuscule and unimportant.  Egotism solves nothing and it exacerbates the issues.  Peace is exactly the way it sounds.  Peace among each other is vital in order to continue the important activism work that is necessary for survival.  Instead, let's love each other and look at each other as fellow brothers and sisters who are on the same team doing very important work.  Granted, the work each activist does may be different from each other and the focus may be different, but we're all working hard for the same goal:  to protect Mother Earth and her beautiful children, fight for our freedom, fight for what's right, and protect our dignity.  I, for one, personally prefer to write and use my unique writing voice as activism for what is important and as Mother Teresa said, "I will never attend an anti-war rally; if you have a peace rally, invite me.I think her quote says it all.  Don't you think?

Organic Cruelty Free is a Win Win in Green Karma

One of the reasons I support wearing 100% natural organic personal care and cosmetics products is because they contain 100% organic natural plant essences and they are beneficial for your personal health, the environment, and the animals. The reason for this is because companies like Aubrey, Aveda, and Dr. Bronner's do not do any animal testing of any kind. When you use soap, shampoo, cleansers, and makeup that contain 100% organic plant essences and are completely free of toxic petro-chemicals, you can rest assured that you're contributing to a 100% win/win in green Karma. Organic plant essences, like peppermint, patchouli, sandalwood, chamomile, and lavender are safe and gentle to your skin, your cells, the environment, and the wildlife. No being - human, animal, or plant-life - need suffer from the use of these products. This is one of the most important steps you can take toward reducing your carbon footprint on Mother Earth.

Mother Nature Has The Best Healing Medicine Cabinet

The day I became an herbalist was one of the most wonderful Blessed days of my life.  Herbs have been a profound integral part of my healthy simple life since I was a little girl and today, that passion has grown much stronger, especially as a wise Mommy.  Words cannot describe how wonderful it feels when I use and connect with wild healing herbs.  My favorite herbs are peppermint, garlic, ginger, lemongrass, oregano, thyme, spearmint, onion, chamomile, lavender, parsley, and dandelion.  These wonderful herbs have grown wild and have been used for centuries for healing medicine, organic green beauty, and everyday healing nutrition.  I use natural wild healing herbs in all the meals I cook and prepare everyday and the special relationship I have with them is profoundly magical.  My favorite aspect of using herbs is that they help me feel more connected with Mother Earth and I can feel the healing loving energy emanating from each herb.  When I peel and prepare garlic, I smile and close my eyes, enjoying the lovely wonderful healing aroma and I know that my body will feel good enjoying the healing energy from it.

When I inhale and drink peppermint tea, I relax, knowing that the special healing energy of the peppermint is nurturing and nourishing my body and is working its magic to heal me and help me feel relaxed and calm and healthy.  I feel these feelings about all the herbs I work with and consume for healing medicine and I feel very deeply Blessed and thankful that these wonderful beautiful herbs grow and are available to provide the important healing medicine and nutrition that I need.  I also take heart and feel very thankful in knowing that these herbs have grown for centuries and will continue to grow for many more centuries.  I'm very thankful that I can grow and harvest them anywhere I live at any time. Mother Nature's medicine cabinet is the best in the world and is always a wonderful bountiful Blessing.

Easy To Be Healthy and Green

When I think about Mother Earth and the beauty of living green, I feel very deeply Blessed and grateful to know that I make great efforts to keep my carbon footprint small.  I've enjoyed a wonderful healthy green lifestyle for 20 years and now as a new Mommy, that passion and dedication has grown in tremendous strength.  My dear husband and I were born and raised on the same unhealthy toxic lifestyle that many children grow up with in the USA, including fast food, which we affectionately refer to as fast death.  We call it that because fast food contributes only to degenerative disease and is not conducive to enjoying good healthy and happiness.  Fortunately, we woke up one day and we have been avid committed label readers and conscientious consumers since the first day we began reading articles and books about the importance of enjoying a healthy simple lifestyle.

We made this important commitment more than 20 years ago and continue to do so, especially with our beautiful adorable wonderful child, Michelangelo.  There are many reasons we made the conscious decision to treat our bodies as temples and vote with our wallets and one of the most important reasons is that we felt sick and tired of being sick and tired.  Enjoying a daily healthy diet of organic non-GMO plant-based foods, natural herbs for healing medicine and using only organic green nontoxic personal care and cosmetics products on our skin and in our hair is something we value and hold dear and we are very thankful that we have maintained this strong commitment.  Many people say it's not easy to be green and we say it is very easy when you consider how much better and healthier you'll feel when you make this conscientious choice and stay consistent for several months at a time.  When you give healthy living a good chance to support your overall health, it begins to feel very good and easy to enjoy a healthy, organic, green lifestyle.

Happy Green Clean Nontoxic Mama

I am always amazed and relieved at the wonderful efficient cleaning power of baking soda and white distilled vinegar.  I use 1/8 C of baking soda and 1/2 C vinegar for small cleaning jobs like cleaning the sink and a small part of the floor and a full C each of baking soda and vinegar for a full load of laundry.  Once the fizzing stops and the mixture sets in for a few minutes, the nontoxic cleaning power is incredible and very efficient.  I've used this wonderful mixture for 20 years and I'm amazed every time I use it.  Any cleaning that would normally require heavy elbow grease makes lifting sticky gross dirt, stains, and dirt that seems impossible to remove are easily removed with this mixture.  It sets in and literally lifts it up.  I'll sometimes squeeze a little fresh lemon juice to add an extra sparkle and lovely aroma and it's very helpful.  Mind you, I'm not a commercial (laughs) but I do swear by this and the proof is there every time and now that I'm a new Mama of an adorable beautiful 15 month old baby boy, nontoxic green cleanliness is very important to my family.  I feel good and grateful knowing that I'm able to keep a clean green nontoxic home and family and maintain a very small carbon footprint.

Wondrous One

1 of my original poems from my collection...
Wondrous One
by Dayna Colvin
Copyright November 2012

Wondrous one, Oh, wondrous one
Where do you fly
To the teetering of the Mountain top
Where the Earth meets the Sky
Beckon thee, I beckon thee
Do you wish to roam
To the Evolution Beginning
Where you call your home
Wondrous one, Oh, wondrous one
I can see it now
Thru the Clouds of the Angel
Thru the Forests of Heaven's Bow
When in doubt, my wondrous one
Come see my Eyes with yours
For, I know now what you call your home
Let it sing and soar to the Shore.

My Gratitude For Being A Wise Healthy Sober Mama

Mother's Day has always been a very special day for me because I celebrated with the 2 most important women mentors in my life, my Mama and my Grandma.  Sadly, my Grandma passed away 20 years ago due to the insidious ugly cigarette smoking addiction that hooked her, and my Mama couldn't process the grief so her therapist got her hooked on big pharma anti-depressant meds.  I miss them both and I feel tremendous painful grief and sadness that my dear beloved Grandma's addiction ate way at her and I feel sad that my Mama can't live without her meds and she can barely talk.  Thankfully, I inherited their beautiful wonderful healing Love and today, I'm a hard-working devoted Mama to my wonderful beautiful little 1 year old baby, Michelangelo.  He's growing into such an amazing, smart, adorable, funny little boy and he's truly magical.

I smile when I look into his eyes and I see my beautiful eyes and smile in him.  Thank goodness, I'm Blessed and strong enough to not succumb to insidious vices and addictions that destroy the body.  Stress and anguish are part of my life, but I'm grateful for the comedy, entertainment, beautiful intimate moments with my dear husband and the sweet fun moments with my dear husband and baby boy to help me get through it.  Booze, cigarettes, and drugs have no place in my life and that will continue everyday that I Honor and respect the red lights of life, as well as my intuitive Inner Voice.  Happy Mother's Day to all devoted, caring, loving, nurturing, hard-working Mamas and may your life be filled with Peace and Love.

Compassion and Respect for Humans and Animals

Does anyone understand the power of the written word for conveying important messages like veganism and organic green living?  Why do people feel the need to share gruesome images of animal cruelty to get their point across?  I'm a writer and I use my writing to raise awareness.  My soon to be completed and published organic vegan cookbook is also a wonderful helpful tool to inspire and help people eat healthier and enjoy living lighter healthy more enlightened living.   When people share gruesome ugly images of animal cruelty on Facebook, it is very off-putting, upsetting, and very disturbing after enjoying the delicious wonderful meal that I worked very hard to make, Respect and compassion go both ways.  You know, on netflix, when something is gruesome, it can be blocked, but not on Facebook.  If I were to post gruesome images of dead  human bodies, I would be blocked.  What is the difference?

Do we herbivores really want to be known and recognized for the gruesome images we share with the rest of the world or do we want to be known for the positive contributions we make everyday by the choices we make?  I've been a vegan for 20 years and if anyone knows the truth about factory farming and animal cruelty, it's me.  Over the years, I've learned that the best way to convey an important message and raise awareness is via written articles and essays and books.  Reading John Robbins' "Diet For A New America" and Dr. Michael Klaper's "Vegan Nutrition, Pure and Simple" informed me and inspired me to make healthy wise conscious choices and decisions.  I didn't need anyone to hit me over the head, so-to-speak.  I simply needed adequate information with facts to help me make an informed wise decision and seeing my family suffer from ill health contributed to my wise decision.

Enjoy A Beautiful Nature Walk On Earth Day

A wonderful way to celebrate Earth Day is to show appreciation for all of the beautiful living beings that inhabit this beautiful planet.   Enjoying a nature walk and all the magnificent treasures hidden in various little natural nooks is a great way to connect with Nature and all of her creations.

You never know what beautiful creatures and plants you'll find along the way. The beautiful little frog and the vibrant little lizard scampering across your path are gentle reminders that we share this magnificent planet with countless animal species and we should walk the path with kindness and awareness. The beautiful vibrant flower blossoming out of a mossy rock or a moist shiny meadow is an important reminder that the Earth is covered with vast miles of rich, vibrant vegetation that depends on clean pure air, water, and soil to survive.

Please remember that we humans share this magnificent planet with countless plant and animal species. As sentient caretakers, it is our responsibility to show caring kindness for all living beings. Take a moment to think about how your actions and choices affect Nature and the wildlife. Before you litter the ground, imagine a wild animal curiously exploring the fallen litter and getting sick from eating it. Please remember that the petrochemicals in your shampoo, hand soap, and laundry detergent go down the drain and pollute the air and groundwater.

Please be kind to all life on Earth and use only non-toxic, earth-friendly, biodegradable cleaning products that contain organic plant essences. "The earth does not belong to man. We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children." Chief Seattle

Greenwashing

Has anyone seen the TV commercial depicting beautiful mountains and fabric blowing in the breeze on clothing lines emphasizing the message, the need to conserve?  The camera then pans to a box of the current popular deodorizer that I affectionately refer to as "febcrap" and it emphasizes the need to deodorizer the garbage and keep the air clean and healthy.  This is typical deceptive greenwashing.   Aware knowledgeable people in the organic green movement know that this is deceptive greenwashing and this commercial is filled with lies and deception.  My article, "Air Fresheners vs. Earth-Friendly Aromatherapy," explains in depth how air poisoners merely cover odors and do far more harm than good.  They contain toxic petrochemicals and irritants that cause adverse health problems and pollute the groundwater and the wildlife.  They serve no benefit to anyone, especially Mother Earth.  It's important to do everything we can to reduce our carbon footprint and conserve and protect the air we breathe and reduce our consumption and waste.  It's equally important to use only those personal care and cleaning products that contain 100% organic earth-friendly plant essences that are safe and healthy and gentle to Mother Earth.  Let's all send a loud strong message to the global corporations that we healthy aware green citizens intend to vote with our wallet and use those products that are safe, healthy, and truly green and we will not support their greenwashing.  Please visit my website http://www.notperfume.com to learn more.  This needs to be a growing trend for Earth Day and everyday.

My Gratitude For My Talent and Ability For The Written Word

As an organic green natural living writer author, I use my written words to express and convey my important innermost thoughts and ideas.  Natural organic green living is utmost important to me and my family and I express this passionate belief in all my books, articles, and blog posts.  I've been a creative writer since age 10 and I've been told by everyone I know that my writing is special and unique and is a great method to convey and express my thoughts.  This started 20 years ago when I'd take a walk with my husband along the sidewalk for a calming evening to wind down the day and to my chagrin, I'd see dozens of trash cans lining the street filled with things that could have easily been reused or recycled.  This was before I knew the apathy and lackadaisical attitude of the average consumer.  It angered me and distressed me to no end and rather than scream in the middle of the street and throw my fists in the air, I decided it would be best if I expressed my feelings on paper.  The result was three great informative articles explaining the "3 R's" - reduce, reuse, recycle - "Scents: Sexy or Not So Sexy," and "Air Fresheners Vs. Non-Toxic Earth-Friendly Aromatherapy."

I have always done my best to express my thoughts and feelings in a constructive productive manner.  I admit I still feel angry and frustrated at times, but fortunately I'm Blessed with the gift of the written word and my words always manage to convey my thoughts in a creative healthy manner.  The best part about it is that my readers enjoy reading what I have to say and I receive much positive feedback and gratitude for sharing my knowledge.  This is priceless and for this I'm very grateful.  Thank you readers for caring, your genuine interest, and participating in the positive solution to keeping Mother Earth healthy and green, especially for future generations.  As a new Mama, this is very important to me and every action I take today is to protect my son's health and his future.

Kindness and Generosity of Spirit

Kindness is a true virtue that since time immemorial has been a precious priceless gift, yet today in the 21st Century, it's become very rare.  Generosity of Spirit comes from kindness and a caring kind loving Heart is the Source of all this Magickal Beauty.  It's very sad that in this era of strife, struggle, and stress, kindness and generosity of Spirit is very rare and when it's found, it's a precious gift to be cherished and appreciated.  It's very sad that animals treat each other better than humans do.  Humans treat each other worse than wolves.  Kindness is often given primarily to family and people we know and the Christmas Holiday is when kindness is at its peak, though it's very superficial and not genuine.  Humanity has become very mechanized and detached and if a person isn't sipping a cup of coffee, he or she is considered to be an oddball.  It's very sad that in the 21st Century people have become very rigid, cynical, and jaded and mistrust is all too common.  People need a cup of coffee, refined white sugar, cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, and their electronic gadgets just to cope, feel good, and be able to cope with and tolerate each other.  I know from personal experience that it's very difficult to know whom to trust, especially when you've been trespassed on and violated and abused, but as much pain and horror as I've suffered, I still manage to have Love in my Heart and Care and want to help others.

Animals and children are wonderful teachers of kindness and generosity.  When treated well, Loved, and Cared for, they are very loving, gentle, caring, innocent, kind, and very affectionate.  It's not in their Nature to be harsh, cruel, and unkind.  Children learn to be harsh and unkind from their parents and other adults in the world with whom they interact.  Perhaps if we adults would take occasional moments to remember our humble roots and all the natural innocent inherent Beauty and Love we received from our Loving Caring parents and gave to our friends, perhaps we would then smile and stop being so unkind to each other and be like the young children we used to be and Love today.  "Put a little Love in your Heart." Jackie DeShannon

Obscene Man Made Noise Is Harmful To Your Health

Noise, noise, noise, I'm so fed up with man made noise!  It's very aggravating, obnoxious, rude, and insane and it tears my nerves apart.  I suffer PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) because of it and it makes me absolutely miserable.  I'm not talking about the kind of noise Mother Nature creates, such as volcanoes, earthquakes, and thunder.  I'm talking about noise created by man made machines, such as vehicles, especially those with excessive obscene illegally modified exhaust pipes, the size of two large open fists put together!  I'm also talking about those excessive, obscene, obnoxious, overpowering, rude extremely low frequency bass that feel like an audio earthquake plowing tearing down the road and it's far worse than a disco!  I've had to involuntarily have it shoved down my throat for 10 years and I'm sick and tired of it!  This is why it's called secondhand noise.  It's gotten to the point where I can't tell the difference between a propane truck going down the road, farm equipment maintaining the road, and the unnecessary excessive loud thud vibration vehicle, the kind of overpowering stereo in which the operator can't even contain it within their vehicle and it vibrates their vehicle and everything within 50 feet of them, and it terrorizes sufferers like me who suffer from severely frayed nerves!

I'm not sure where to move to in order to have peace and quiet and peace of mind and sanity, but I'm starting to wonder if I need to move to the Continental Divide to have it, but then I wonder if that will be good enough and far enough away from all the abusive jerks terrorizing me!  Whatever happened to enjoying peaceful solitude quiet?  Heaven forbid people should enjoy the lovely gentle healing sounds of Mother Nature, like wind, breezes, rain, leaves rustling through the trees.  This incessant need for overpowering man made noise is way out of control!  Humanity is so much in need for a day that the Earth stood still!  Please visit http://www.noiseoff.org to learn more about the harmful health effects of overpowering obscene man-made noise.

Natural Holistic Herbs Are Safer Than Big Pharma Baby Medicine

My sweet adorable beautiful 10 month old little boy has entered a painful teething phase and it's exhausting.  I connect and communicate with wise Mamas online throughout the world asking them for advice to help my baby and they've been very caring, kind, and loving with their kind sweet advice.  My husband and I bought several popular homeopathic and holistic natural remedies that are supposed to bring relief.  They are very helpful and healing.  Unfortunately, The poor little Cherub is having a very difficult painful time.  As his Mommy who Loves him and cares about him so very much, it's not easy to watch him suffer through this.  We are totally 100% holistic herbal and are not supportive at all of anything synthetic made from big pharma medications OTC or prescription.  We asked his pediatrician for some helpful suggestions and he suggested Baby Tylenol.  We weren't thrilled with the idea, but as an absolute last resort if our sweet adorable son, Michelangelo is miserable and nothing works, we thought maybe we can give him some kind of pain killer to help him feel better.

Well, we thought about this until we went to the pharmacy and saw the terrible medications being sold.  We were aghast by what we saw.  There was a bottle that contained a moderate amount of big pharma synthetics, but we were relieved to see there were zero toxic petro-chemicals in it.  Then, we looked at another bottle and it showed 2 ingredients, which we found to be very suspicious.  We couldn't find the extensive list of ingredients, so we consulted with the pharmacist and she told us to peel back the label and sure enough, there was a long list of toxic ingredients, including propylene glycol, which is found in anti-freeze, and several F.D.&C's, artificial food dyes that contain coal tar, which is essentially petroleum.  We were mortified and disgusted and we cannot believe that any self-respecting physician who has any integrity would prescribe or recommend that a parent give these medications to their young children.   Personally, I put my trust in Mother Nature's medicine cabinet before I put my family's health and safety at risk with these toxic medications.  Wouldn't you?
